Gardaí investigating the murder of an Englishman whose body was found in a slurry tank in west Cork have arrested two men.
The men, aged 24 and 35, are being held at Bandon Garda station over the death of Garry Bull (32), a new-age traveller whose body was discovered on Thursday in a slurry tank on a farm at Shanlaragh, Dunmanway.
A postmortem revealed Mr Bull died from head injuries consistent with being struck with a blunt instrument.
Gardaí believe he was already dead when his body was dumped in the tank, and that he may have been left there up to two weeks ago.
Gardaí have drained the slurry tank in their search for the murder weapon, which is thought to be a hammer or an iron bar.
Yesterday gardaí said a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions was being prepared in relation to two women arrested on Friday night over the killing. The women were released without charge yesterday.
Mr Bull, who was from Hertfordshire, had been living in a mobile home in the Kilmichael area of west Cork between Dunmanway and Macroom.
He had come to live among the 200 or so new age traveller community in the nearby Coole Mountain area about three years ago.
