Gardaí in Dublin are questioning two individuals following separate drugs seizures in the north of the city.

One man is being questioned after the seizure of €280,000 worth of cocaine. Officers in Raheny arrested the man, who is in his 30s, when they stopped and searched his car on the Malahide Road last night.

Four kilos of a substance, which is believed to be cocaine, was seized. "He was arrested and is currently detained at Raheny Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act," said a garda spokeswoman.

In a separate incident, a 30 year-old man who was arrested yesterday following the seizure of cocaine worth an estimated €70,000 is still being questioned by gardai.

The seizure was made in Dublin Airport yesterday by Customs officers.

The drugs were discovered following the arrest of a Polish man (30) who arrived from Brussels. He was found to have 95 pellets of cocaine in his body and was taken to Santry Garda station.
