Two men have been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a 70-year-old widower Mr Lawrence Flanaganat his home in Belfast last Monday.
Mr Michael Anthony McDonnell (21) and Mr David Albert Taggart (20) appeared before Belfast Magistrates Court charged with killing Mr Flanagan.
Mr Flanagan, a father of three grown-up daughters, had worked for the Ulster Museum for close to four decades and had written several books.
Mr McDonnell, of Delhi Street, was remanded to appear before the same court on May 9th along with Mr Taggart, whose address was given as Malvern Way, Belfast.
