Two men have appeared in court charged in relation to the discovery of a mini-camera at an ATM in Ashbourne, Co Meath.
The men are non-nationals and one has an address in Spain. Both were charged at Dunshaughlin District Court with being passengers in a stolen car. The cases were adjourned.
One of them was also charged with possessing a number of articles with intent to commit crime,namely a mini-DVD camcorder, a receiving unit, a mini-pinhole camera and a DVD tape contrary to section 15 of the Theft and Fraud Act 2001.
The equipment was found in a stolen car that had been pursued by gardaí after it was seen acting suspiciously close to the ATM on Sunday afternoon.
There were two people in the car but they abandoned it between Ashbourne and Finglas and ran into nearby fields, before being caught.
