Two men appeared in court today charged in relation to the death of a man in Co Cork last December.
Finbar Delaney (48) and Keith Spillane (36) were both charged at Cork District Court with violent disorder at the Manhattan Bar on Lower Friar's Walk in Cork in the early hours of December 27th, 2011.
Mr Delaney's brother, Gerard, a 51-year-old of two from Lakelands Crescent in Mahon, was assaulted during incident and later died at Cork University Hospital.
Mr Spillane was also charged with production of an article, namely a pick-axe handle, on the same occasion.
At Cork District Court, Det Sgt David Treacy gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution in relation to Finbarr Delaney who made no reply to the charge.
Det Garda Anthony Harrington gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution in relation to Mr Spillane who made no reply to the two charges that he faces.
Insp Mick Maguire said gardaí were not objecting to bail for either Mr Delaney from Plunkett Road, Ballyphehane or Mr Spillane from Ashbrook Heights, Lehanaghmore.
Judge James O'Connor remanded both men on their own bonds of €1,000 to appear again at Cork District Court on January 23rd.
