Two brothers charged with the murder of a 15-year-old boy were remanded in custody this morning in advance of High Court bail hearings.
Paul Barry (38) from Pearse Street in Dublin and Michael Barry (23) of Pigeon House Road had been charged with the murder of teenager Toyosi Shitta-Bey.
The schoolboy from Tyrellstown, who was a third year student at Hartstown Community School, was killed in west Dublin last April. He died from a stab wound to the chest.
He was on his way back from the National Aquatic Centre with friends on Good Friday when the incident that led to his death took place.
Yesterday, more than a dozen friends of the schoolboy waited outside the court while the brief hearing took place. Inside, family members watched quietly while Judge Brian Sheridan remanded the two men in custody at Cloverhill Prison with consent to bail.
The court heard that High Court bail hearings for the men were planned for next Monday.
