Witnesses have been sought to an incident in which two men were stabbed in Dublin city centre early yesterday.
A Garda spokesman said a row broke out in the area of the Burgh Quay/D'Olier Street junction at about 2.50am.
Several men and women were involved in the altercation which moved across to O'Connell Bridge.
Two men, aged 19 and 23, were stabbed in the row. They were taken to St James's Hospital.
One man was released yesterday morning, while the second man remained in a stable condition last night.
Gardaí at Store Street have appealed to the public to help in investigating the incident.
Close-circuit television in the area may also help to identify the people involved.
"Gardaí are seeking witnesses to the incident, and in particular are anxious to talk to a man who fled the scene in the direction of Wellington Quay following the incident," said a Garda spokesman.
No arrests have been made. Anyone who may have seen anything has been asked to contact Store Street Garda station at 01-666 8000 or any Garda station.
Part of O'Connell Bridge was sealed off early yesterday following the incident. After gardaí had conducted a technical examination of the scene, the cordon was removed and the area hosed.
Also yesterday, gardaí from Store Street have appealed for witnesses to an incident which happened on Middle Abbey Street at about 2.30am on December 22nd.
A number of men were involved in a fight there, and a 17-year-old male was found in an injured state and taken to the Mater hospital.
He was transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where his condition was described as critical yesterday.
Two people have been charged in connection with the incident.
