Two Northern Irish children were killed and five people injured when a minibus collided with a truck near Stockholm yesterday, officials said.
The truck driver, and a woman and three children in the minibus were injured, officials said, but declined to identify any of the victims.
The crash happened yesterday afternoon on the road near Oesmo, about 30 miles south of the Swedish capital, when one of the truck's tyres exploded causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, a police spokesman said.
A one-year-old girl died at the scene and a five-year-old boy died after being airlifted to a hospital in Stockholm, he said.
The other injuries were not expected to be life-threatening, a hospital spokeswoman said, adding the Irish family in the minibus had been on holiday in Sweden.
It was not immediately clear if all seven people in the minibus were from Ireland and were from the same family.
