A second man has died following a collision between a car and cyclist which resulted in the car then hitting a taxi in north Dublin early this morning.

The driver of the car died in hospital this morning. A male cyclist in his sixties was also killed in the collision on the Howth Road outside the Offington Estate in Sutton at 3am.

Five occupants of the taxi were taken to Beaumont and the Mater Hospitals where their conditions are described as stable.

The Howth Road remains closed between the Offington and Corr Castle estates.
