German police say they have arrested a man (59) after two men were shot dead after morning prayers in a mosque in the western town of Gelsenkirchen.
Police said the suspect and the two dead men, shot in the head, were of Turkish origin. They have no motive for the killings yet.
They said some of the 11 other worshippers present identified the suspect, who had also taken part in the morning prayers and was well known.
He was arrested shortly afterwards in his apartment and offered no resistance.
