Two people have died following separate crashes in Cos Kilkenny and Cork today.
Early this morning a 46-year-old woman died when the car she was driving crashed into a ditch in Co Kilkenny
The crash occurred at Kildalton near Piltown at about 12.10am. The woman was alone in her car and there were no other vehicles involved.
She was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Gardaí have closed the road between Piltown and Templeorum pending a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.

In Co Cork, a 41-year-old man died when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with an articulated truck.
The incident happened shortly after 9.30am on the N20 near the village of Rathduff. The man, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Gardaí have advised motorists to avoid the area if possible as the road is closed and diversions are in place. The N20 is the main Cork to Mallow road and motorists travelling towards Mallow will be diverted at Bweeng and those travelling towards Cork will be diverted at Bottle Hill.
