Two people have died on the roads in incidents crashes in Counties Offaly and Limerick.
A 30-year-old man died when the van he was driving went out of control on the R357 at at Raghrabeg, Shannonbridge, Co Offaly at 10.30am. He was the only occupant of the vehicle that crashed into a ditch and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road is closed after the crash.
A 55-year-old man died after he was hit by a car in Limerick last night.
The collision happened on Church Road, Coole, Kilteely shortly before 8pm, according to gardaí. The road was closed for a time after the incident but has since re-opened.
Gardaí later named the victim as Jack Ryan of Knockderk, Pallasgreen, Co Limerick.
Elsewhere, gardaí are seeking witnesses to a collision in Dublin that left two people seriously injured.
Shortly before 3.30am this morning a silver Toyota Glanza 96-D-63112 crashed into a lamp post on the Kilteel Road in Rathcoole.
The two occupants of the car, a man and woman in their 20's, were seriously injured and removed to Tallaght Hospital.
Gardai are asking anyone who as driving on the Kilteel Road or anyone who may have seen this car prior to the crash, to contact them at Rathcoole Garda Station on 01-6667900.
