Two men died in road accidents at the weekend. A 19-year-old man was killed when a stolen car he was travelling in crashed in Cranashannagh, Burnfoot, Co Donegal, early yesterday. Three male passengers in the car, including two brothers, were injured. One of them, a 20-year-old with serious back and head injuries, was transferred to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, last night by a Marine Emergency Service helicopter. A hospital spokeswoman said he was in a stable condition in intensive care. The dead man was named last night as Mr William Hewitt (19), from Meadowhill, Raphoe, Co Donegal.

A 28-year-old man was killed in Co Tipperary yesterday when his car struck a bridge in Ballinunty, Thurles. He was named as Mr John McGarry, from Ballinunty.
