Two men rescued in Glendalough

Two men were rescued last night after they became stranded in the St Kevin's Bed cave area of Glendalough in Co Wicklow.

Two men were rescued last night after they became stranded in the St Kevin's Bed cave area of Glendalough in Co Wicklow.

Members of the Dublin and Wicklow and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain rescue teams were alerted by the gardaí yesterday evening about the trapped men.

The rescue teams used ropes to descend approximately 200 metres to where the Polish nationals were located and assisted them down to the lakeshore. Both men were uninjured.

The rescue teams ended the operation just after 10.30pm last night.
