Gardaí are investigating two separate stabbing incidents in Dublin's norht inner city last night.
In the first incident, a French tourist was attacked on on Parnell Street at around 6 p.m. It is understood he was the victim of a robbery.
He was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment and has since been released.
Also last night, two men were brought to hospital, one with serious stab wounds, following an altercation outside a pub on Dorset Street.
A Garda spokeswoman said the victim was stabbed after intervening in an argument between a man and a woman on the street at around 9.15 p.m. He is said to be in a serious condition in the Mater Hospital.
A number of people then came out of the pub and attacked the man with the knife, who was also brought to the Mater. Gardaí are waiting to interview him once he has recovered from his injuries, which are not thought to be serious.
