Two Moroccan brothers wanted for the March 11th train bombings that killed 191 people were among seven Islamist radicals who blew themselves up in a Madrid suburb earlier this month, El Pais reported today.
Until now, police had been unable to identify three of the bodies from the apartment in southern Madrid where the train bombing suspects fought a gun battle with police before detonating a load of dynamite.
El Paissaid DNA tests on two sets of remains revealed them to be brothers Mohamed Oulad Akcha (28) and Rachid Oulad Akcha (33).
The brothers were among six suspects named on international search warrants issued by the judge leading the investigation into the March 11th train bombings.
One of those suspects remains unaccounted for and one of the men who died in the apartment blast has yet to be identified. They could be the same man.
Three others listed on the warrants also died in the suicide blast, including two who Spanish authorities suspect were leaders of the train bombings: Serhane ben Abdelmajid Farkhet, nicknamed "the Tunisian", and Jamal Ahmidan.
Farkhet and Ahmidan called their families to say goodbye before blowing themselves up, El Paissaid.
