Two pipe bombs were found today close to where loyalists abandoned a car bomb yesterday in Co Antrim.

The first device was found near the Marine Hotel in Ballycastle.

Army explosives experts were called in to defuse the device 24 hours after a huge car bomb was discovered in a neighbouring street where thousands of people had been attending the town's Auld Lammas Fair.

A second pipe bomb was later defused after being found at the Boyd Arms pub in the Diamond area of Ballycastle.
