A child and an adult are still in a critical condition tonight following a road crash in Co Tipperary earlier today.

One man, who was in his 20s, died in the two car collision on the Cashel to Clonmel road just before 10 pm last night.

A seven-year-old boy and two women, one in her 50s and the other in her 80s, were hurt when one of the cars involved in the crash left the road and struck a house.

Three people in the second car - a man and two boys - were taken to South Tipperary General Hospital in
Clonmel.

One child was in a critical condition while another injured child has been transferred to Waterford Regional Hospital.

The scene was sealed off for a technical examination by crash investigators, and the road reopened at about 6.45 pm.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to contact them at Cahir Garda Station on 052-45630.
