A 37-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were remanded in custody this afternoon when they made their second court appearance in relation to the murder of a 27-year-old father of one whose body was recovered from the River Bandon in Co Cork.
Ciprian Grozavu, a Romanian national, and Catherine O'Connor, originally from Kinsale in Cork, are both charged with the murder of Jonathan Duke at Bandon Bridge House, Bandon, Co Cork on November 13th.
The two accused were brought amid tight security to Bandon District Court where they ran a gauntlet of verbal abuse from a crowd of around 80 onlookers. a
Judge James McNulty remanded them both in continuing to custody to appear again at Bandon District Court on December 16th at 2pm.
Among those in court for the brief hearing yesterday was Mr Duke's mother, Michelle and two of his sisters.
