The two winning tickets of last night’s €125m euromillions jackpot were sold Britain and Spain.
The British winner has come forward to stake a claim on what will be the UK’s biggest-ever lottery prize of €62.5m, Camelot said today.
It is not yet known whether the winning ticket belonged to an individual or a syndicate, according to a spokesman for the National Lottery.
A National Lottery spokesman said: “We are looking forward to welcoming this ticket holder to our millionaires club which is already 2,400 strong.
“EuroMillions players in the UK have contributed to the massive #24 billion raised for good causes across the last 15 years.
“This latest winner continues the nation’s great run of luck with big EuroMillions winners.”
The winning ticket shares last night‘s overall jackpot of #113 million with one other which was bought in Spain.
The jackpot surpassed the €100m paid out in November last year which was shared between two UK tickets.
If the ticket belongs to an individual rather than a syndicate, it will be the biggest Lottery jackpot prize ever paid out to a person in the UK, the spokesman
said.
The prize would also mean the winner would immediately become the 980th richest person in the country, according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2009.
The lucky numbers are — 05, 45, 01, 38 and 18. The Lucky Star numbers are 6 and 4.
