Two women have died after a crash in Co Longford this afternoon.
The women were passengers in a car that was in collision with another car shortly after 2pm at Purth Cross, Granard, according to gardaí.
Two other people were taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mulllingar where their condition is serious. The Granard-to-Aughnacliffe Road has been closed following the crash.
This morning, a man in his 30s died after his car hit a wall in Co Wexford. Gardaí in Enniscorthy are investigating the collision, which happened at around 3am on the N11 at Cooran, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.
