UEFA this afternoon again rejected the complaints made against Bohemians made by Estonian champions, Levadia Maardu. The governing body had already dismissed the complaints once, but deliberated for several hours before rejecting today’s appeal.
The complaints, presented by Levadia in a 12-page document, focused on the height of one of the goalposts, which Levadia claim was 2cm too low, in the first match and also referred to, among other things, the size and state of the dressing room made available to them. They also expressed unhappiness with the official UEFA observer at Dalymount, Manchester policeman Alan Hutchings. All complaints were rejected.
Bohs can now approach this afternoon’s 2nd leg tie in Tallin (17:30 Irish time) knowing that even a 2-0 defeat, which seems unlikely given their assured performance last week, will see them progress to a second round meeting against Swedish side Halmstad.
