British house price inflation rose to 4.3 per cent in the year to January 2005 from 2.9 per cent in December, the government said today.
According to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the average house price now stands at £188,191 pounds in January; this compares with £185,788 pounds in December.
In London, house price inflation grew to 5.3 per cent in January compared with 3.8 per cent in December 2005.
