The Republic of Ireland have qualified for the second round of the World Youth Championships after topping Group E with a 2-0 win over Mexico.
A goal for Stephen Kelly and a second of the tournament for Stephen Paisley saw Gerry Smith's side safely through, though in reality they would have still qualified had they lost after Saudi Arabia held the Ivory Coast to a 0-0 draw earlier in the day.
Ireland will have to face Colombia, also unbeaten, in Al Ain on Tuesday without Darren Potter after the Liverpool youngster was sent off for an off the ball incident.
Meanwhile, England again failed to score as they bowed out of the championships with a goalless draw against Colombia.
The result saw England secure their first point of the tournament after defeats by Japan and Egypt but extended their scoreless streak in the event to 491 minutes.
England have now not scored a goal since their 2-1 loss to Argentina in the 1995 tournament. Colombia's point guarantees them a place in the last 16 regardless of the result between Egypt and Japan.
