A London underground station remain closed today after being evacuated in a security alert, three weeks after suicide bombers killed 52 people on the transport network.
A British Transport Police spokeswoman said Southwark station was closed and Jubilee Line services suspended between Waterloo in central London and Canary Wharf in the east London business district.
She said she had no more details. London police said they had no immediate information.
Transport for London, which manages the capital's transport system, said on its Web site a security alert had stopped trains in both directions "until further notice." A spokesman had no further comment.
Police have dealt with dozens of security alerts across London since the July 7th bombings and an attempt to bomb three trains and a bus on July 21st.
