Unionists have nothing to fear from a united Ireland, the Ancient Order of Hibernians said yesterday. It also called on the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, to ensure that Articles 2 and 3 of the Constitution are not put up for negotiation at any stage of the Northern talks process.
At its annual parade, in Carnlough, Co Antrim, the Order said it would be "more advantageous" for unionists to work towards a 32-county republic. "I think we could embrace all cultures as we are doing at the moment in the 26 counties," said the national secretary of the Order, Mr Frank Kieran.
