The first of a series of meetings between the Department of Finance and ICTU representatives to discuss implementation of benchmarking pay awards for public servants finished at 4p.m. this afternoon with both sides agreeing to meet on a weekly basis.
The two sides discussed the time-scale for implementing benchmarking pay awards and ways to quantify productivity in exchange for increases.
A Government spokesman described the talks as "very constructive", while a spokesman for ICTU said he expected the talks to continue well into the Autumn.
