The Minister for Justice, Mrs Owen, yesterday announced the establishment of the latest Juvenile Diversion Project for Dundalk, which will have £40,000 funding in its first year.

Ms Owen said the project, aimed at the Muirhevnamore area of Dundalk, would target young people at risk of getting involved in crime or drug abuse.

The Department of Justice has 10 similar schemes already set up, involving a £516,000 budget in 1996.
