Manchester United chief executive Peter Kenyon has said reports that Roy Keane is receiving treatment for depression and mood swings have 'no foundation'.

Sunday newspaper articles suggested that the United and Republic of Ireland skipper had also been undergoing 'lifestyle counselling' at the Priory Clinic in Altrincham.

"I think this is a story that's been around a long time, it's an old story and we have no comment on it.

"We think it's a story with no foundation," Kenyon told Radio 5 Live.

The tales of Keane's alleged problems come following a week in which he launched several verbal attacks at the Old Trafford staff, players and supporters.
