Mainline train-drivers at Iarnrod Eireann have suspended their unofficial industrial action, following agreement by the Irish Rail Review Group to intervene in the dispute.
The drivers refused to work rest-days or to cover for a shortage of personnel, in support of their claims over pay and conditions. The action mainly affected trains running between Killarney and Tralee.
However, following the agreement of the Government review group - "the three wise men" - to become involved, the drivers agreed to a union request yesterday to resume working rest-days.
