Continental Airlines, the world's sixth-largest air carrier, yesterday inaugurated a year-round service between Ireland and the United States, flying from Dublin and Shannon to Newark, New Jersey. The move was welcomed by the Minister for Public Enterprise, Ms O'Rourke who said it was the policy of the Government to introduce new air links to the US.
Continental expects to generate 65 per cent of its business in the US and 35 per cent in Ireland.
