Three warehouses of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) were reported to be on fire after being hit in a US attack on the Afghan capital, Kabul, today, an ICRC spokesman said.
"It has happened again. At 11.30 a.m. (8 a.m. Irish time) huge explosions took place and three of our warehouses are on fire now", ICRC spokesman Mr Mario Musa said.
He said he had no immediate report of casualties but that he expected very few people to be in the warehouses as it was a Friday holiday.
Mr Musa said the warehouses had food supplies, tents, tarpaulins, blankets and other aid intended for the people of Kabul.
