A US manufacturer of dyes and dye-cutting equipment opened its new European headquarters in Clonakilty, Co Cork, yesterday with 34 jobs expected to be created onsite over the next four years.
The Ellison headquarters in Cork will include customer support, sales, marketing, administration and finance. It will subsequently expand to include other functions, such as management of the supply chain and some products based on original R&D.
Control and ownership of all major European business functions will also be managed from Clonakilty.
Speaking at the official opening of the new office in Cork yesterday Minister for Enterprise Micheál Martin said the choice of Clonakilty by Ellison was a further endorsement of the Irish workforce.
"Ellison will be an important presence at the West Cork Business & Technology Park and will make an important economic contribution to the town and surrounding area through the high quality employment it will offer," added the Minister.
