New York - A former US Special Forces sergeant has been charged in connection with the alleged terrorism campaign against Americans by the Saudi exile, Mr Osama bin Laden, according to the New York Times. Mr Ali Mohamed (46) is being held at a federal jail in Manhattan after he was charged last month, the paper said. The charges are an attempt by the government to prove Mr bin Laden was behind the US embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya, and other attacks against US soldiers in Somalia, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, the Times said.
