Washington - Reports of Ms Monica Lewinsky's graphic grand jury testimony about her alleged affair with President Clinton seeped out yesterday as a poll showed most Americans wish the scandal investigation had never begun.
As various versions of Ms Lewinsky's day-long testimony on Thursday were splashed across newspaper front pages, Mr Clinton appeared in the Rose Garden to preside over a carefully scripted event on job training. A new poll by CBS News found that most Americans - 63 per cent - believe that, whatever the truth of Mr Clinton's situation, it would have been better never to have embarked on the investigation.
