US troops opened fire on a minibus and killed four passengers during a raid on Baghdad's Sadr City district today, police said.
Eight people were also wounded when the vehicle was hit by a burst of machinegun fire, they said.
Local residents said the passengers were workers and not militants.
Elsewhere in Iraq, three marines died last night from wounds sustained in Iraq's volatile western Anbar province, the US military said today.

Anbar is the heartland of a three-year-old Sunni Arab insurgency and is the deadliest place in Iraq for US soldiers.
The deaths brought to 2,871 the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq since 2003.
