Many prominent Northern politicians are expected to attend the funeral of UUP president Sir Josias Cunningham, which takes place this morning. A service will be held at his church in Parkgate, Co Antrim, before a private committal at Roselawn crematorium in Belfast.
It is believed that a successor to Sir Josias will be not be appointed until the next annual general meeting of the Ulster Unionist Council, which is not due to take place for eight months. The UUP chairman, Lord Rogan, is expected to assume themost crucial presidential duties.
