New Delhi - An influential right-wing Hindu organisation accused the Vatican yesterday of pursuing the canonisation process for Mother Teresa with "undue haste". The Vatican's main aim was to encourage the "evangelisation of India", said the vice-president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Giriraj Kishore, according to the Press Trust of India.
The first interview in the process to determine Mother Teresa's elevation to sainthood began in Calcutta last week. The decision to launch the process was taken one year after Mother Teresa's death.
