Vayu in gas deal with Glencore

Independent natural gas supplier Vayu has announced a partnership with Glencore International.

Glencore has taken a 27 per cent shareholding in Vayu and becomes its exclusive supplier.

Vayu said the partnership would give it direct access to Glencore's gas trading expertise to help further develop its services in the Irish market.

Vayu's managing director Tony Ennis said: "This partnership positions Vayu extremely well to leverage our current market position as the leading competitor to the incumbent in the industrial and commercial sector of the Irish natural gas market."

"Glencore's portfolio will see Vayu expand its range of services and flexibility to meet the growing needs of a more sophisticated market place," he said.
