Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock has signed Gary Kelly as goalkeeping cover for Paddy Kenny until the end of the season.
The 36-year-old former Oldham and Bury shot-stopper has signed non-contract forms.
Kelly - who is not cup-tied - has played more than 500 Football League games and also turned out 50 times for Newcastle.
Warnock told the club's official website: "His experience will be valuable in the next couple of months and I would have no qualms throwing him in should it be necessary.
