The victim of a gangland-style killing outside a Dublin city centre pub was named this afternoon by gardai as 25-year-old Ronald Draper with an address at Brook View Walk in Tallaght.
Draper was a doorman at a pub on Eden Quay. Last night he was approached at his place of work by a man who fired a number of shots at Draper before leaving the scene with a second man on a motorcycle just after 10 p.m.
He was taken to the Mater Hospital in a critical condition but died two hours later.
Gardai have launched a murder investigation and are hunting for the two men who made their escape on a motorbike. A motorbike believed to have been used by the attackers was later found abandoned in the nearby docklands.
The area was sealed off for technical examinations and gardai were appealing for anybody who may have seen the incident to come forward.
