The group which acts on behalf of the victims and relatives of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings has been given £162,000 by the Government.
The Minister for Justice, Mr O'Donoghue, said the Government had decided yesterday to provide the assistance to the Justice for the Forgotten Group. He said it would enable the group to establish a family-support centre to provide a personal support service to the injured and relatives, through a family service-support programme.
Mr O'Donoghue said discussions would be held with the group about making the service available to those affected by similar atrocities. He said the funding was for this year, with further assistance to come later. The Minister paid tribute to the dedication and commitment of Justice for the Forgotten and its work. He said he was happy to be able to assist it in its "valuable and necessary work".
