Former Northern Ireland human rights campaigner Vincent McKenna today lost an appeal against his conviction for sexually abusing his eldest daughter when she was a child.
The Court of Criminal Appeal in Dublin this morning decided that the conviction for assaulting his daughter, Sorcha, between 1985 and 1993 was safe.
The 38-year-old founder of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Bureau may now serve a longer prison sentence, as the court will hear a separate appeal by the Director of Public Prosecutions calling for his three-year term to be increased.
