Vinnie Roe has his public prep for the Gold Cup when he makes his seasonal debut in the Saval Beg Stakes at Leopardstown tomorrow night.

Dermot Weld's star six-year-old is 11-2 second favourite with William Hill for the Royal Ascot feature behind 7-2 market leader Mr Dinos, last year's winner.

The record three-times winner of the Irish St Leger, has not raced since finishing fourth to Westerner in the Prix Royal-Oak at Longchamp in October.

He has to carry 10st 2lb in tomorrow's Listed contest over a mile and three-quarters but that is only 1lb more than when he was successful in this race two years ago.

Charles O'Brien's recent Navan winner Jade Quest and My Renee, making her seasonal debut for Michael Grassick, are the other older horses in the field.

Completing the line-up is the three-year-old filly Darabanka, who receives 30lb from Vinnie Roe. The Aga Khan's filly, trained by John Oxx, made a winning debut at Wexford three weeks ago.
