The Scottish Premier League (SPL) will give new national coach Berti Vogts their full support in Scotland's pursuit of Euro 2004 qualification.
The SPL said they will, when necessary, cancel fixtures before crucial international matches to help the German prepare his squad while also reintroducing a winter break.
Chief executive Roger Mitchell met Vogts last week to discuss the changes and told them him that he has the full support of the SPL.
"Berti came along to see me when he was in Glasgow," said Mitchell. "We discussed several issues and chatted about the game in general.
"I found him impressive. He seems to know what's going on here in Scotland and, of course, we will seek to accommodate him in any way we can," he said.
Vogts and the SFA delegation are in Frankfurt today to negotiate the dates for the Euro 2004 qualifying ties.
