Australia's Shane Warne claimed the world record for most test wickets with his 533rd victim during the second test against India today.
The 35-year-old leg spinner dismissed Irfan Pathan on the second morning to surpass Sri Lankan Muttiah Muralitharan's mark.
Warne forced the left-hander to edge a catch to Matthew Hayden in slip. He raised his hand in triumph and was surrounded by his team mates in a mid-pitch celebration.
Warne, playing in his 114th test, equalled Muralitharan's mark on Thursday when he had opening batsman Yuvraj Singh caught behind for eight.
The Australian had previously jointly held the mark with off spinner Muralitharan in July with 527 wickets.
Warne had taken 531 wickets at an average of 25.64 before coming into the Madras test.
Australia lead the four-test series 1-0.
