In Short:LONDON – Jack Warner, the figure at the centre of football's bribery scandal, has announced his resignation from Fifa with a parting shot, claiming the giving of "gifts" has always been part of the culture of the organisation.
Mr Warner (68) quit after being shown the detailed findings of last month’s Fifa ethics committee hearing which suspended him pending a full inquiry into claims he and a fellow Fifa member paid bribes totalling $1million.
Under Swiss law, Fifa has no jurisdiction against people who leave the organisation. – (PA)
