LEGAL ACTION will be taken to prevent risks to public health from illegal medicines, the chief executive of the Irish Medicines Board (IMB) has warned.
Last Friday at Bailieborough District Court, Co Cavan, Martin McDaid and MM McDaid Ltd were convicted on 15 charges of supplying unauthorised medicinal products.
IMB chief executive Pat O'Mahony said the cases acted as "a reminder to all involved in the supply of medicines of their legal obligations". The IMB brought charges of unauthorised supply of medicinal products in pharmacies in Cavan and Monaghan following inspections by the IMB, the Pharmaceutical Society and the HSE.
