Five-times Open champion Tom Watson will make his first appearance at the Senior British Open at the Royal County Down Golf Club in Newcastle from July 25th-28th.
The 52-year-old American, who won a total of eight majors in a glittering career, said: "My schedule, for one reason or another, has never made it possible for me to play the Senior British Open nor play a competitive round over The Royal County Down links.
"This year, however, I was determined to do both and I have to say I am really looking forward to the opportunity."
