Rescue services in Co Clare have been unable to recover the body of a Dublin woman who fell from the Cliffs of Moher yesterday.

High seas and strong winds prevented efforts by the Doolin Rescue Unit to retrieve the body. Gardai in Ennistymon say that attempts at recovery will resume tomorrow morning weather permitting.

The woman, in her early forties, was part of a group touring in the area and fell from a viewing platform at around 11.15 a.m. yesterday.

The Irish Coast Guard helicopter, along with the Doolin Rescue Unit, arrived shortly afterwards. However, they were unable to reach the woman's body, which lay at the base of the 600-foot high cliffs.
